February Teacher of the Month: Shannon Clemons

Each month, Marshall ISD celebrates the outstanding contributions of our faculty at our campuses to the overall educational experience of our students. These professionals work countless extra hours at home, on weekends, and over holiday breaks with one focus in mind -- to make MISD and their campus Marshall Proud and Maverick Strong for our students.

The Teacher of the Month for February 2018 at Sam Houston Elementary School, as selected by Principal, Mr. Jerry Hancock, is Shannon Clemons, fifth-grade Math teacher.

"It is my pleasure to nominate Mrs. Shannon Clemons for Teacher of the Month," said Mr. Hancock. "She is currently on our fifth grade team here at Sam Houston and serves as the Team Leader for that group. Mrs. Clemons served as a second grade teacher for us in the past and last year we approached her about moving to a higher grade level and she accepted. Her move to fifth grade is just one example of her willingness to do what is best for our students here at Sam Houston. Mrs. Clemons continues to exhibit these leadership qualities every day for both students and adults. Mrs. Clemons is the type of teacher that both students and colleagues can depend on throughout the year. We are very grateful to have her on the Sam Houston campus."
